MARCH ON WASHINGTON
The March is less than a month away! OGRC will be participating in the March on Washington, Sunday, October 14. The National Coordinating Committee has declared the March to be non-violent---let's make a good impression on the nation. Carry a sign with your city's name on it so everyone can see we are everywhere. The national WATS line has been disconnected, so for any information about the March or transportation, call Rick Lange (216) 535-2358 or the Washington office (202) 739-1070 or the New York office (212) 924-2970. Money is urgently needed to help offset the expenses of the March. Donations can be sent to the Mid-West Region Committee, c/o MOHR, 940 W. McNichols Rd., Detroit, MI 48203. Let's see all of us there!

The State Fair Booth was discussed first. We discussed the possibility of a drawing with free entry blanks since selling raffle tickets is prohibited for our type of contract. Roger Walton has donated a painting. Marilyn will check the cost of printing entry forms, Jay will have prize registered at the concession office. Both will report back to the State Fair Booth Committee (SFBC). allocation of $35.00 was moved by Diane and seconded by Mark. The motion passed unanimously. A bar and organization list will be drawn up for distribution from the booth. The backdrop will still list organizations. Diane and Jay will have the backdrop revised, if necessary. (NOTE: After doing some checking, it was decided NOT to have a free drawing at this year's booth). The rental of a table and chairs was discussed. Two members stated that both articles were available free, on loan by friends. The Board then voted to donate an unlimited access car sticker to the SFBC. An allocation of £35.00 was moved by Marilyn, seconded by Roger and passed unanimously. Jay reported the progress of literature gathering and again appealed to local representatives to mail material to her before the beginning of the fair, or to bring it to the booth. Diane reported that the second printing of the membership/subscription pamphlets will be ready this week. This led into a discussion of accepting dues and newsletter subscriptions at the booth. Everyone was in agreement that this would encourage fair-goers to join OGRC. Jay passed around copies of basic rules for SFB staffers for Board approval. Suggestions were made and added to the list. A new list of instructions will be given to staffers as they arrive. Jay suggested cash-only transactions for book sales. There was a discussion of cash only versus checks and cash. No problems arose last year due to bad checks, so checks will be accepted. Staffers wanting $1.50 admission tickets were told to have the money to Jay by the beginning of the fair. Other details such as a cash box, petitions, mailing list and educational pamphlets were discussed. All details will be in order by the beginning of the fair. The SFBC submitted a skeleton budget of basic needs for organizing the booth. This list is based on 1979 costs, but will
be helpful for the 1980 Booth project.
